banner NCI™.
NCI™ stands for Network Communities Initiative. As introduction and to
establish the core values and mission we are providing the following message to
potential NCI™ partners and participants –
NCI™ blends three essential concepts, first, initiative.
There is an intrinsic power in showing initiative and so the exponent " i ",
raised to the power of " i ". This is an entrepreneurial or new enterprise effort,
showing initiative in that we are decisive, purposeful and realize we are accountable
and take responsibility to make change happen.
Secondly, the core value of informational self-determination is
fundamental in our shared persona as a network community of trusted, responsible,
values-based people and organizations who see the potential of informational being.
Informational privacy, informational self-determination are human rights, the rights of
eBeing. The personal information assets which make up our digital identity, our eBeing
should be, must be protected as a societal resource, a legally protected member of society whose
informational assets are utilized according to and protected by law.
A robust and vibrant digital economy and greater information society is
dependant upon the trusted, secure and equitable exchange and utility of personal
information — our individual and collective personal information assets are
the transforming resource of our emerging digital ecosystem and must be protected.
Thirdly, we are internetworking communities, informational cultures which are
working together and leveraging transforming technology for asserting and
protecting our cultures, our assets, our values, individually and corporately. We use
the Internet, we use technology to assert these rights and enjoy the many benefits of
sharing our information with others who respect the intrinsic value and necessity of
fair and equitable use.
